Larry J. Tard is the Founder, President, and Director of Christian Coffee House, a nonprofit rooted in Macon, Georgia, serving veterans, school dropouts, people experiencing homelessness, and neighbors returning from prison. A veteran himself, Larry launched the organization in 2007, opening his home, sharing family vehicles, and using personal resources to meet urgent needs, then steadily building partnerships and programs that combine immediate relief (meals, clothing, transportation, temporary shelter) with long-term solutions (education, workforce training, money management, wellness, and reentry support).
Over nearly two decades, Larry has guided the mission from a small volunteer-led effort into a trusted community hub with a clear vision: secure a permanent center to bring all services under one roof, add transitional housing and training labs, and expand impact across Middle Georgia. Under his leadership, the organization focuses on dignity, stability, and opportunity, translating faith-rooted values into practical outcomes such as housing pathways, job readiness, and safer, stronger neighborhoods.
Larry’s day-to-day leadership blends hands-on service with strategic planning, coordinating transportation to medical appointments and interviews, growing partnerships with local ministries and shelters, and championing structured programs like GED prep, digital and financial literacy, and veteran reintegration. His goal is consistent and measurable progress for people in crisis, backed by transparent governance and community accountability.
